Law firm hosted town halls for BP Oil Spill victims in Gulfport

A Miami-based law firm, the Downs Law Group, hosted free town halls in Gulfport for victims of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon BP Oil Spill.

The town halls are offered to those who suffer from cancer or chronic illness and think they may have been harmed by the spill.

Attendees had one-on-one discussions with Attorney Alexander Blume, who shared information regarding the victims’ rights pertaining to the BP oil spill.

News 25 spoke to one of the firm’s clients, Charles Boggs, who says he suffers permanent damage to his body and fears that more damage is still to come such as a return of his acute myeloid leukemia he has already fought twice. Boggs said, “The radiologists said I have a permanent scarring of my lungs as a result of the severe congestion that I had for those years – 2 and a half 3 years – and stage three kidney disease.”
