Law Enforcement Support Event

Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. Tomorrow is the day we recognize them nationally.
Here on the Coast there will be an event on Saturday at Jones Park where we will honor our local officers and deputies for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Organizers are encouraging residents to wear blue or black and join them at 10:30 at the boardwalk on the east entrance of Jones Park to take a stand to show those courageous men and women in our community that we see them, appreciate them, and stand behind them.
Event organizer Kristin Allen said, “I’m very passionate about law enforcement. I have a husband and two brothers that are in law enforcement and I know what it means to them to be able to do something like this. So, I decided to throw it together to show law enforcement across South Mississippi that we are thankful for them and we appreciate them.”
The event will happen rain or shine. If it does rain, attendees will gather under the Barksdale Pavilion instead of on the boardwalk.
