Police cars packed the parking lot of the First Baptist Church in Gulfport as law enforcement joined local legislators and elected officials for a fellowship lunch.
This lunch, merging police and politicians, is held on the first Friday of every month in Purvis. State Representative Steven Palazzo wanted to bring the event back to the Coast.
Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson tells News 25 communication between those who work to oversee the community is important for the Coast to stay strong. “Local law enforcement on the Coast is stronger than it’s ever been. We are unified in so many ways. This is just another tool we can use to make it even stronger. It’s something that all of us can take to heart and we get together anytime we can.”
A group of Biloxi police officers served the food.
