Latest decision to expand Medicaid and increase gas tax
Candidates for governor in Mississippi are split over the decision to expand Medicaid to working lower-class as well as increasing the gas tax to fund road projects.
Lt. Governor Tate Reeves said he’s against both while Democratic Attorney General Jim Hood and two Republicans, State Supreme Court Justice Bill Waller Jr. and State Representative Robert Foster, are in favor of the increase.
Democratic candidate Robert Shuler Smith feels the gas tax increase could potentially help fund education.
