Large contraband bust at South Mississippi Correctional Facility

Authorities have executed a massive contraband bust at the South Mississippi Correctional Facility in Leakesville.

According to our media partner the Sun Herald, Fifty-nine-year-old Pervis Everett is the alleged smuggler.  He’s accused of providing prisoners with drugs, electronics, cellphones, hacksaws, and other items, according to court records.

FBI surveillance footage shows Everett using a known smuggling route through a wooded area that leads to the prison on two occasions: once in April and once in August of this year.

Prison security officers then arrested Everett this month when they caught him on the property with more contraband.
