Landslide In Biloxi
The Biloxi Industrial Seaway experienced something we don’t see much of here on the coast, a landslide.
On Saturday, the Coast Guard and Army Corps of Engineers were called to the seaway to survey the landslide.
Surveyors discovered what they call a slope failure due to excessive rain. The seaway is currently open to recreational users, but closed to commercial traffic.
Army Corps plans to contract someone to dredge out the land now in the middle of the canal. They hope to have the seaway open to all traffic in two to three weeks.
