Our Lady of the Gulf Crab Fest

The 34th annual Our Lady of the Gulf Crab Festival has come to an end, but it was an exciting one.

The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits on this year’s festivities. The Crab Festival estimates they had anywhere between 20,000 to 30,000 people in attendance.

Some of the volunteers that run the crab specialty tents tell News 25 that by the end of Saturday they were already running out of some of the crab dishes.

Overall, they hoped that everyone who came out had a great time. Crab Specialty booth leader Laura Griffith said, “Families thoroughly enjoy coming out. The rides are here for the young and young at heart for those that love carnival rides that is here. All of the arts and crafts and just sitting down in your chair and enjoying everything under all of those 400-year-old oak trees.”

The Crab Festival is an annual event so be sure to check it out next year if you missed out.
