Lady Eagles received WNIT bid
After losing the Conference USA title game for the third time in four years, Southern Miss is on the outside looking in once again. The Lady Eagles still get to keep playing in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament, a post season venue where they’ve thrived in the past.
Look no further than 2015 when they advanced all the way to the Elite 8 of the tourney, hosting every game along the way.
On Saturday, USM lost the championship game to Western Kentucky for the second time in three years. The Black and Gold were carried by their four year starter Brittanny Dinkins, who was named to the all-tournament team.
