All Ladies Championship Regatta at Pass Christian Yacht Club

For the 82nd year, crews return to the Pass Christian Yacht Club for the Bernard L. Knost Regatta.

This all ladies championship regatta will feature women from different yacht club organizations.

The Gulf Yachting Association puts this event on in remembrance of the late Bernard L. Knost, who taught his daughters how to sail in a time period where this was uncommon for females.

It’s a great event that honors tradition and encourages young ladies they can do and achieve whatever they want in life. Knost Regatta Chair Jo Ann Francingues said, “To keep on the tradition of the Knost, they introduced it. They kept their children in it. They provided the trophies for all of the awards. It’s a way to keep young women aware of what their options are.”

This is the only all-women sailing event in the United States. Although this is a private regatta, the public is invited to watch the regatta on Highway 90 along the harbor.
