Kyleigh Ward returns to Crossroads Academy after battling heart failure

We have been following the story of Kyleigh Ward for a while now and today we have a sweet update on her journey.

After bouncing back and forth between states along the South, Kyleigh is officially back along the Coast as she began her first day of second grade in person at Crossroads Academy in Gulfport.

Kyleigh has had a pulmonary hypertension since birth and was diagnosed with heart failure and has been in and out of the hospital for most of her life.

She most recently completed her studies with Abeka Home School Academy and couldn’t be happier to be back in person with her friends. Kyleigh’s mother Briancca Trammel said, “She’s been wanting to come back to school for the longest. Of course, with all the stuff going on it’s been kind of holding us back. She’s been with Abeka Academy with the home schooling and we got all that done, she graduated and now she’s on to second grade and we’re super excited and we’re happy to be back at Crossroads.”

Kyleigh said, “It was amazing and I love my friends.”

Kyleigh attended Crossroads Elementary in 2020, but did class virtually. This is her first year in-person at the school.
