Kwanzaa Celebration tonight in Gulfport
It’s a tradition that’s been held each year in South Mississippi for nearly three decades.
You’re invited to the 27th annual Kwanzaa Celebration tonight at the Good Deeds Community Center in Gulfport.
The celebration is put on by the Gulf Coast Kwanzaa Coalition and will celebrate the principal of Nia, or purpose, especially as it relates to financial purpose. Highlighting the event will be special guest speaker Shelly Lomard, a national financial strategist.
President Michael Daniels with the Gulf Coast Kwanzaa Coalition says he hopes the event encourages people to celebrate the spirit of Kwanzaa all the time. “Tonight, even though it’s just one night, we’re going to pretty much combine all the different principles, all seven days within one. We’re still encouraging everyone to practice Kwanzaa, not just these seven days but 365.”
The event kicks off at 6:30 tonight and everyone is welcome to attend. Kwanzaa officially ends on January 1st.
