Krewe of Wonder Women gave out King Cakes over the weekend

Mardi Gras parades might be canceled this year, but that didn’t stop the Krewe of Wonder Women from showcasing their Mardi Gras spirit.

The Krewe of Wonder Women passed out King Cakes from local bakeries.

The organization kept it safe, passing out individual pieces in paper bags and distributing them drive-thru style.

The organization is participating in the House of Floats and wanted to showcase powerful women throughout their yard.

Noelle Nolan-Rider tells News 25 what inspired the event. “I guess kinda get people in the Mardi Gras spirit because I feel like it has been such a tough year and it’s like I want to give back to the community and cheer them up a little. So, I would say that it kind of sparked it, like how can we do this safely?”

The money the organization raises through the Krewe of Porches will go towards scholarships for kids.
