Krewe of Neptune Parade returned to Biloxi on Saturday
Biloxi’s Krewe of Neptune parade finally returned Saturday night and our news team was there to capture it all.
Grant Chighizola, Meggan Gray and Rob Knight showed our coast viewers the sights and sounds of a classic parade — which finally returns after a COVID hiatus.
Thousands gathered along the streets to watch the show, including plenty of people from out of town.
Meet Billy — He was out in Biloxi with his fiancée just before their wedding, and he couldn’t think of a better way to spend his evening. “We’re getting married in a month, we’re meeting the people at the ATP, but we’re so happy to be here. It’ll be my first time ever to see a parade in Biloxi. I’m really looking forward to it and I can’t wait.”
Gianna and Bruno Milanese come to Krewe of Neptune every year. The native Coasties say parade-going is the best way to meet remarkable people you’d otherwise never run into. “It’s a bonding experience, you know? We don’t have a lot of holidays or events on the coast where this big of a crowd comes together.”
It’s not the Crescent City — but with casinos nearby and plenty of other options for entertainment, it holds up as a great spot for Mardi Gras tourists. “The streets, the atmosphere, the amount of people, you just can’t beat it in this downtown area like this. That’s why we like coming here, because we just love being downtown.”
