Krewe of Neptune, Harrah’s Gulf Coast, and Memphis Barbecue Network to host inaugural Smokin’ the Coast BBQ competition September 27 & 28 on Harrah’s Great Lawn

BILOXI, MS (September 24, 2024) – Pitmasters and amateurs will gather on The Great Lawn at Harrah’s Gulf Coast September 27 – 28 for the Inaugural Smokin’ The Coast barbecue competition featuring teams from all over the southeastern United States.

Sanctioned by the Memphis Barbecue Network, the competition will crown winners in the Championship Division & Patio Division with trophies awarded for 1st – 3rd place, and cash prizes awarded to the top five in each category for Pulled Pork, Pork Ribs, Pork Loins, Pork Chops, Whole Hog, Baked Beans, Seafood/fish, Chicken/ Barbecue Sauce, Desserts, and Bloody Marys.

Madison Rosonet, an officer with the Krew of Neptune, an event sponsor, says, “We couldn’t be more excited to bring a nationally sanctioned barbecue event to Coastal Mississippi. Smokin’ The Coast will feature a professional division, where you can see entire hogs being barbecued, and a patio division for your back porch guys who like to cook.”

In addition to delicious food, the two-day family-friendly event will also feature arts and crafts vendors, entertainment, and a cornhole tournament.
