Krewe of Les Badineurs holds 31st annual Pig Roast

The Krewe of Les Badineurs has a storied history on the Coast and this weekend they hosted a unique event to bring together family and friends.

The krewe’s 31st annual free pig roast was on the campus of the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum. The all guys krewe roasted 130-pound pig from head to toe in the smoker, topping the day off with sides and desserts for guests. President Ricky Murphy said, “It’s just family and friends and fellowship, because when it gets to be Mardi Gras season things get so busy. And this is not a fundraiser or anything. We actually, the club puts this on and no charge to anybody that comes, and we just want to have one time a year that we can concentrate on family and the kids, because you know Mardi Gras is mainly a grown-up event. ”

The krewe has been around for over 50 years on the Coast as they gear up for their annual costume Mardi Gras ball during the carnival season.
