Krewe of Gemini Scholarship Award Ceremony

Mardi Gras krewes don’t just come into the public eye around carnival season, they’re working in the community year round.
Tonight in Gulfport, the Krewe of Gemini presented two Gulfport High School students with $1,500 scholarships. Emily Uresti and Keeth Prince were the students chosen. Uresti will be attending Stanford in the fall and majoring in international law. Prince is going to MGCCC to get a start in electrical engineering and eventually attend Mississippi State.
“I just feel so relieved to have my first year of college paid for now and that’s thanks to the Krewe of Gemini, too,” said Uresti.
I work full time to pay for college, so having this kind of cushions the fall. If work gets slow, I don’t have to worry about having to pay for school,” said Prince.
The Krewe of Gemini hosts monthly functions within the community.
