Kiwanis Club of Gulfport commemorates 100 years of service on the Coast

The Kiwanis Club of Gulfport celebrated 100 years in Gulfport today at the Great Southern Club.

Serving the children of the world, the Kiwanis Club of Gulfport commemorated 100 years of service on the Gulf Coast.

Fifty members from Louisiana came to celebrate the milestone. Members and partners are dedicated to improving the lives of children one community at a time. Kiwanis member Dennis Oliver said, “Through the night, the mayor will give a proclamation. This is Gulfport Day in Gulfport, Mississippi. We will honor our past presidents and we’ll also honor the long-term members. We have some members with 55 years of service, 50, 45, 35, so that’ll be really impressive.”

Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving, literacy, and offering guidance.
