Kiln man flees from deputies in drug case

A Kiln man is in jail, charged with tampering with evidence, fleeing from police and several drug charges.
Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley said 24-year-old Jacob Fairley was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute methamphetamine, felony fleeing and tampering with and destroying evidence. He was taken to the Harrison County jail and bond was set at $105,000.
Haley said narcotics deputies tried to stop a GMC pickup on 30th Avenue near 13th Street in Gulfport, but the driver, identified as Fairley, refused to pull over and took off. Fairley collided with an investigator’s vehicle, resulting in heavy damage, but continued fleeing. During the pursuit, investigators saw Fairley throwing suspected methamphetamine from the vehicle.
The truck Fairley was driving eventually came to a stop and he was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle yielded felony amounts of methamphetamine in the vehicle.
