Kiln man charged with robbing store, kidnapping teen

A Kiln man is in jail, charged with robbing a convenience store and kidnapping a teen.
19-year-old Danon Froman was charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and burglary of a commercial business. He was taken to the Hancock County jail. No bond has been set pending an initial appearance.
Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said Froman had allegedly broken into A One Stop convenience store on Highway 43 in Hancock County on Highway 43 four or five days prior and returned to rob it again.
Adam said he had planned to use an accomplice, a 17-year-old, who tried to back out of the plan. That’s when Froman allegedly put the teen in the trunk of the vehicle at gunpoint.
When he entered the store, an employee was still in the building, Adam said. The suspect was wearing a mask but told the employee, “Don’t do anything stupid and it’ll be OK. It’s Christmas.”
The suspect then stole vapes and cartridges.
Detectives were able to develop leads that led to where the suspect lived and the vehicles identified in the break-ins at the store were in the suspect’s yard. Froman was arrested without incident.
Deputies recovered vapes and the gun allegedly used in the robbery.
