Killer on the Run
The search is on for William Boyette, the man believed to have killed three women and injured another before going on the run in Escambia County, Florida. One of Boyette’s victims was his girlfriend, Alicia Greer of Biloxi.
Forty-four year-old William Boyette is on the run after killing three women and critically injuring another in the area between Milton, Florida and Lillian, Alabama. He was last seen traveling with a companion, 37-year-old Mary Rice. Rice, once considered a person of interest, has been upgraded to a suspect in two of the murders Boyette is believed to have committed and the pair are at large and considered armed and dangerous. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said, “Much to our frustration, we’re chasing a lot of shadows. Those of you that are blowing up social media are creating tremendous issues for us. We have confirmed that Mr. Boyette and his accomplice, Ms. Rice, have been very mobile. Moving throughout wooded areas, not just in the Beulah Road and nine mile area, but they have stayed mobile and that’s one of the ways that they’ve eluded capture.”
Boyette appears to be choosing targets at random. The only victim with any previous connection to the killer was Alicia Greer, his apparent girlfriend and a native of Biloxi.
William Boyette is armed, dangerous, and expected to head west. With one of his victims tying him to Biloxi, it’s possible that he could return to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but if he does local authorities will be waiting. Captain Chris Stratton with Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said, “We have units on the interstate looking right now, like you said, the highway patrol, Alabama Highway Patrol, Mobile County, Jackson County, all law enforcement agencies in the area are aware of it and are set up, looking for it.”
There’s an $11,000 award available for anyone that has any information that could lead authorities to Boyette.
