Kids Sunday Funday

Kids on the Gulf Coast were treated to a special Sunday Funday at John Henry Beck Park.

Spacewalks, dunk tanks, and basketball tournaments all took place at the park. This event allowed children to receive free food and snowballs. Barbers from Studio 601 Barbershop treated kids to free haircuts throughout the day.

Event Coordinator Timothy Bolling tells News 25 this gives local children the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other’s company. “It’s one thing to do this for my community. It’s another thing to bury somebody. Everybody out here is wearing normal t-shirts. No faces on the shirts. We are just out here with everybody having a great time. Kids are in the jump houses, dunking booth is about to get going. We are here having a wonderful time.”

Bolling wants to put on events for children in every city. He tells News 25 it doesn’t matter which city the Funday takes place because it’s all about the Gulf Coast.
