Kids Fit Day in Diamondhead
Over in Diamondhead, the Hancock Junior Auxiliary hosted a free children’s fitness day over the weekend.
The Junior Auxiliary hosted the event Saturday morning at the Diamondhead Town Green, promoting healthy lifestyle in children’s health.
Local fitness instructors demonstrated health exercises from Pilates to line dancing and everything in between.
The local chapter says the event aligns with its objective of constructive community participants meeting community needs.
Kids and adults would share healthy exercise tips as Jeff Clark emceed the event, sharing his life’s testimony after suffering a heart attack last year that prompted him to lose over 90 pounds. “After going through what I went through and getting healthier and getting more fit, I’m just glad to share that part of my story. My family was so supportive during it.”
Attendee Charlie Clark said, “Always eat healthy, good consistency, and always get to bed on time.”
Anne Pitre with the Hancock Junior Auxiliary said, “You don’t have to be good at sports to be active. You can do dance. You can do Zumba, line dancing. You can just get outside and throw a ball around.”
Attendee Connor Cameron said, “It makes you move. You can get all the sweat out of your body. It’s really fun to exercise.”
The Hancock Junior Auxiliary has earned multiple national awards for their service projects. Find out more about the chapter by visiting jahco.org.
