Keys2Fitness in Gulfport hosts Hip-Hop Brunch Cardio

The month of April marks National African American Women’s Fitness Month and what better way to celebrate the season than with music, food, and a workout?

Keys2Fitness held its first ever hip-hop brunch on Saturday at the Westside Community Center in Gulfport. The hip-hop influenced dance class was open to the public as well as women of all fitness levels.

Those in attendance were able to learn some new dance routines while working up a sweat before enjoying their post workout meals.

Gulfport native Keandra Poole says she’s grateful to give back to her community. “For me, for Keys 2 Fitness, I wanna instill fitness within my community and also minority communities also offering the brunch where you can see the modifications as far as nutrition like the fruit, the veggies. Instead of guacamole, lets have some hummus or salsa or something that is more nutrient efficient.”

More hip-hop brunches are already in the works for the coming months.
