Kenny Torgeson wins Pass Christian Republican Mayoral Primary
PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- Another big result from Tuesday night’s race for mayor in Pass Christian.
Incumbent Mayor Jimmy Rafferty was defeated in his bid for a second term by current Alderman at Large Kenny Torgeson in the Republican Primary.
Torgeson earned 54 percent of the vote in the city and wins the office by default since there is no General Election opposition.
The only other contested primary in the Pass on Tuesday night was for the Alderman-at-Large seat that Torgeson is vacating.
Current Ward 4 Alderman Victor Pickich defeated Scott Naugle in the Republican Primary with 55 percent of the vote.
