Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle release Thursday in Biloxi
The Mississippi Aquarium will release one Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle into the Mississippi Sound tomorrow.
The release will happen at 4 in the afternoon on the beach in front of Edgewater Mall. This will be the last turtle of a group brought to the aquarium in December 2022.
The group was found cold-stunned by the New England Aquarium and flown to the Coast to receive further rehabilitation.
The most recent release by the Mississippi Aquarium was held on July 19th.
After tomorrow’s release, the staff will have released 104 Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles since opening in August 2020.
