Keesler Air Force Base finishes up Warrior Day

Keesler Air Force Base airmen wrapped up a two-day lead-a-thon Warrior Day, focusing on leadership and airmanship development.

The lead-a-thon leadership development began Thursday, airmen students heard from guest speakers who provided insightful leadership tactics and training.

Day two of the event led them to partake in physical activities training, such as agility, combat, and conditioning.

The training was in partnership with Dragon University and airmen earned a special patch upon completion.

“Shoot, move, communicate – it’s going to challenge you in your communicating with your team. Now you have to fight this person that may be a danger to you,” said Captain Temon Reed. “And then in combat agility drills is stuff going on and we need to get from point A to point B first.”

“First day doing it, it was interesting. It is a little bit challenging,” said Master Sergeant Leona Guy. “But that’s one of the reasons why I decided to do the Warrior Day, to challenge myself and also to experience what the other career fields go through.”

“Airman and the Guardians that we’re producing here at Keesler Air Force Base are the best that this nation has to offer,” said Chief Master Sergeant Ron Oudean. “And when they think about us, we are combat ready and we are combat capable.”

Keesler says it expects Warrior Days to be more frequent to test the ability of its airmen.
