Keesler Air Force Base Celebrates National Police Week with Community Events
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — Keesler Air Force Base is honoring law enforcement officers across South Mississippi with a week of events in celebration of National Police Week.
The celebration begins May 11 and continues on May 12 with a police expo and “Battle of the Badges” event at the BX Parking Lot from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The activities continue later that day with a bowling tournament at Gaude Lanes from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
On May 14, participants can take part in the Excellence in Competition at Combat Arms event on Larcher Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A lifting competition will also be held that morning at 9 a.m. at Triangle Fitness Center.
The week-long celebration concludes May 15 with a first responder ruck followed by a closing ceremony at the base flag pole.
National Police Week is observed each year to recognize the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the country.
