Keeping children safe this summer

The Gulfport Chief of Police sent out a reminder today to pay a little more attention on the roads during summer months.

As the school year ends, more kids will be outside. Chief Adam Cooper says it is important that everyone watch out for the children of the Coast.

Gulfport police will be placing more emphasis on enforcing traffic infractions in neighborhoods.

Chief Cooper tells drivers not to be distracted on the road and to pay extra attention for children on bicycles or playing near the road.

Also, don’t leave kids or pets in cars since temperatures can rise quickly, leading to injury or death.
