Karla Hooten Visits WXXV
Yesterday, the new president of the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters visited the WXXV Studios.
Karla Hooten is beginning her role as leading lady for the organization that oversees nearly all television and radio stations in the magnolia state.
Hooten has worked at the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters for the past eight years and she is the first ever African-American woman to serve as President of the organization.
“It was an honor actually. I was really honored, thrilled, excited, scared all at the same time. But I’m looking forward to being whatever the association needs me to be,” said Hooten.
Hooten says her future plans include helping all stations propel fully into the digital age by using new media to its fullest potential.
