Juvenile Justice Symposium kicks off in Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — Experts from all across the state are gathering at a Juvenile Justice Symposium in Biloxi to learn how to help kids have successful futures.

Juvenile justice has been a big topic at the IP Casino in Biloxi. Wednesday kicks off the three-day event offering classes to those wanting to learn how to better serve our youth.

This is the 47th year for the conference, and the next few days will focus on youth empowerment, bringing together those who work directly with our community’s future leaders.

The conference will give attendees the opportunity to sit through multiple classes which will hit on topics like violence prevention, mental health, and suicide awareness.

Professionals are learning the best practices for how to help kids and teens in the ways they may need it. Those from across the state are sharing ideas and methods to aid others and in turn, better their own approach to the youth in their own communities.

The event will run until Friday afternoon.
