Jury selection begins for former Diamondhead Councilman Alan Moran trial
Jury selection began today for former Diamondhead Councilman Alan Moran.
He’s in court to face charges stemming from an incident that happened nearly two years ago. Moran was indicted on charges of touching a child for lustful purposes.
He is accused of trying to molest a 17-year-old on February 14th, 2022.
Moran had hired the minor to work for his father’s pest control business on a mosquito truck and had taken him in the truck to learn how to use the controls when the alleged molestation occurred.
The case was sent to the grand jury in April 2022.
At the time of his arrest, Moran was a councilman for the City of Diamondhead, but resigned from the council in March of 2022.
He also faces a civil suit filed by the minor’s parents.
