Junior Auxiliary Prom Closet
Hundreds of girls and their families turned out on Saturday for an annual event that helps them prep for the prom season.
“In the Zone” in St. Martin was once again transformed into a dress boutique as part of the Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi and Ocean Springs ‘Prom Closet.’
Dresses and accessories were all marked at $15 or less and girls had the chance to enter into raffles for hair services, manicures, and others things to help them with their prom preparations.
The Prom Closet helps around 250 to 300 girls in the community and is always a positive experience. Prom Closet Chair Stephanie Payne said, “To be able to provide a dress that may cost at least a hundred dolls in a store at $15 or less is simply amazing. To give a girl the opportunity to go to her prom for much of nothing means the world to us.”
The Junior Auxiliary reaches out to the community each year with the prom and homecoming closets.
