Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi-Ocean Springs hosted a ‘stay safe and play’ event

The Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi-Ocean Springs hosted its annual ‘Stay Safe and Play Event’ on Sunday.

The 3rd annual event was geared towards teaching family’s safe ways to have fun and provided health resources to children’s parents.

Children were also able to learn fitness techniques and how to perform CPR. Natasja Brown with Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi Ocean Springs said, “So, we just think to have an all-encompassing idea of what safety is but still having fun but knowing like what happens if you accidentally cut yourself or for example, we have someone talking about different types of plants and what plants you should stay away from, what you’re okay to touch and things like that.”

Kayla Jordan with Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi-Ocean Springs said, “So, we’re going to get the kids and their parents out together. We might have single parents out here, first-time parents so they’ll encounter these things and they can learn from it.”
