Juneteenth Pop-Up Shop in Moss Point

President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, establishing June 19th as a federal holiday.

Tons of local businesses gathered at Pelican Landing in Moss Point for the Juneteenth Pop-Up Shop to celebrate the day that now commemorates the end of slavery.

Many small businesses came together to sell all types of items from clothes, candles, even soap. DJ Twin Lee was in attendance to provide the right beats at the right time.

The pop-up shop was open to the community and encouraged everyone to come support local businesses. Vendor Nyqueria Williams said, “Happy Juneteenth! Look forward to the next pop-up shop.”

Williams also says that after the pandemic, having pop-up shops are very beneficial for small business owners and says they’ll be hosting another one in November.
