Jrue Holiday re-signs with Pelicans

Over the weekend, New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday got paid like a superstar. Now it’s up to him to play like one.
On Saturday, the two parties agreed to a new five year contract worth $126 million. The deal could pay up to $150 million based on incentives and it has a player option after the fourth season.
After acquiring Demarcus Cousins via trade in February, the Pelicans wouldn’t have had the cap space to replace Holiday with another top tier point guard in free agency.
Only 27-years-old, the biggest problem for Holiday has been staying on the court as he’s only appeared in 63 percent of his team’s games during his four seasons in the Big Easy.
He averaged more than 15 points per game last season.
