Joint commissioning ceremony hosted at USM

Three army and one Air Force ROTC cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants this weekend on the Hattiesburg campus.

Nikolas Blenden will begin his career as a signal officer, managing communications and information systems for the military.

Cedric Clemmons is set to become a field artillery officer with the U.S. National Guard and Shakera Holmes will join the Medical Service Corps with the Mississippi National Guard.

Lastly, Trevor Clark will become a Logistics Readiness Officer in the Air Force.

He will specialize in preparing airmen and equipment for day-to-day operations and deployments.
