Joel Carter wins District 49 Senate seat

Joel Carter has won the District 49 Senate seat. He replaces Sean Tindell who vacated the spot to take the position as a judge with the state appeals court.

Carter had 1,968 votes. Carr had 996 votes and Meyers finished with 767 votes. Carter wins with 52.70 percent of votes with 3,743 ballots cast. There will be no runoff.
