Jimmy Buffett remembered for plane donation to Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile

Jimmy Buffett is being remembered for more than his music.

In 2022, Buffett donated two aircraft to Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile. He had wanted his donation to remain anonymous, but after Buffett’s death on Friday, the park revealed his gifts.

One of the aircrafst, a Grumman Goose, was part of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s anti-submarine warfare patrol.

The other plane, a Boeing stearman, was a key prop in Buffett’s popular music video, ‘A Trip around the Sun.’

A memorial display is now sitting in front of both aircrafts with a wreath and an iconic Buffett Hawaiian shirt.
