Jersey Mike’s donating all funds to local charity for annual Day of Giving

Jersey Mike’s in Gulfport and D’Iberville is donating all sales today to Carter’s Champions for their annual Day of Giving.

Day of Giving is one of Jersey Mike’s busiest days of the year. It’s where all Jersey Mike’s stores can pick a charity of their choice to donate all the funds made that day. Nationally, last year they raised $20 million for local charities.

Jersey Mike’s picked Carter’s Champions as their local charity to give back to. Carter’s Champions is a nonprofit that helps local breast cancer patients pay for treatments or other medical expenses. Jersey Mike’s Vice President of Operations Landon Corkren said, “Breast cancer really hits home for me. My mom was affected by it in 2003 and our franchise owner, Bret Dunaway, his mom actually passed away from breast cancer. So, it really hits home for us to see an organization that gives one hundred percent of what they raise to Memorial, but there’s no salaries being paid, there’s no nothing, 100 percent what Carter’s Champions raise goes to Memorial Foundation.”

Jersey Mike’s Gulfport and D’Iberville locations are participating in the fundraiser until 9 p.m. tonight. Raffle tickets and merchandise is also being sold at the shop.
