Jeepin the Coast cruises Highway 90

Around a thousand Jeeps took over the Long Beach Marina Sunday to warm up for a long week of Cruisin’ the Coast.

Jeepin for a Cause was one of many kickoff events along Highway 90 as Jeepin the Coast dedicated its first ride of the week to breast cancer awareness month.

The Jeep enthusiasts donated money from merchandise sales to local nonprofit C4AC to help families of breast cancer patients afford expenses not covered by insurance.

Jeepin the Coast raised more than $13,000 and held a $20 raffle for a chance to win a brand-new Jeep.

The ride began at Anita’s in Bay St. Louis at 10 that morning. Event Organizer Jennifer Moran said, “Well what it means to me is, the families that have been helped by this. I mean, I look around and I see some of these women walking around, some of the men we’ve helped firsthand, who have incorporated this ride into their family event every year for Cruisin’ the Coast now. So, I mean, it really means a lot to me. It touches home.”

Jeepin the Coast recently helped aid Ida victims with a hurricane supply drive.
