Jazz violinist Michael Ward to play at Gulfport fundraiser
Rebekah’s House is an organization devoted to keeping homeless families together and helping them to get jobs in the community.
An annual party to benefit Rebekah’s House will be bringing in the tunes Thursday night at Climb CDC in Gulfport. The night’s big star is well-known violinist Michael Ward. Ward has a big following in New Orleans and will be playing jazz music at the fundraiser.
Event organizers tell News 25 the annual fundraiser is a perfect opportunity for music lovers who want to support a great cause. Rebekah’s House Board Member Wendy Roper said, “It is really a gratifying thing because for those of us who are so very blessed, it is so good to share what you have and to be able to have some guidance and help the people that really are living paycheck to paycheck and really are one disaster away from needing help and needing to end up in a shelter.”
The event is called “April in Paris” and will start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $25 each or $40 per couple and can be purchased by calling 228-239-1867.
