Jackson State University names Thomas Hudson as new president

JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV) – Thomas Hudson has been named President of Jackson State University.

In a meeting on Wednesday, the Board of Trustees of State Institutions made the decision.

Hudson was made acting president earlier this year.

The Board stated that Hudson provided leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and helped to improve the university’s financial position.

Hudson has been a member of the Jackson State staff since 2012.
