Jackson State student killed on campus
A Jackson State University student died after a shooting at the University Point Apartment Complex.
JSU’s Acting President Dr. Elayne Anthony released the identity of the student, Jaylen Burns from Chicago, in a statement posted to the school’s Facebook page.
Additional security is on campus to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff. Classes were suspended for today.
Dr. Anthony said the campus community’s thoughts and prayers are with Burns’ family and friends.
Burns was described as an ambitious and bright student who was an industrial technology major.
