Jackson County woman arrested for exploitation of a vulnerable adult
The Ocean Springs Police Department made an arrest regarding an identity theft investigation that occurred throughout a two-year period.
Tammie Scott out of Vancleave was hired as a caretaker for a 77-year-old widow. Scott would help with finances among other responsibilities.
Investigators conducted a credit check and began checking with the victim’s bank and multiple credit card companies.
As of now, it has been determined Scott fraudulently acquired approximately $140,000 of goods and services. Scott was arrested in Hopkins County, Texas and charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult several weeks after this investigation began.
She was extradited to Ocean Springs and was being housed at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with a $100,000 bond.
