Jackson County voting expected to run smooth
Election commissioners are preparing for the election in Jackson County and plan to have technical support on hand for voters.
Multiple precincts experienced technical issues throughout the November elections in Jackson County. It was the first time the county’s new electronic poll books were used. The electronic poll books will not be used in Jackson County during tomorrow’s election.
The election commission is assisting all four cities tomorrow. The chairman tells News 25 they’re expecting the voting process to run smoothly. Election Commission Chair Danny Glaskox said, “Electronic poll books are a little costly to redo the whole thing for cities. We felt like in the interest of saving the city some money we will switch back to encoders which are just as easy. Poll workers are available. We did do refreshment training even though we weren’t required, but we’re here to help them if they have a problem.”
Election commission board members are asking residents to be patient and kind to one another while voting tomorrow.
