Jackson County Sheriff’s Department warning of scam

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Jackson County Sheriff Department is warning residents of a scam going around.

Scammers are calling residents and demanding personal information or requesting money. These scammers might say a family member was arrested and need bail money or that you have a warrant and need to pay it off.

The names of the deputies might be used to make the call seem real.

As always, the sheriff’s department wants to remind everyone they will never conduct this type of business over the phone.
