Jackson County Sheriff asking for help identifying homicide victim

Jackson County Sheriff’s Investigators are asking the public’s help to identify a man whose body was found in the water off Belle Fontaine beach near the St. Andrews community on Friday afternoon.

Investigators hope someone recognizes tattoos on the man.

One is on the man’s chest that says “Sticks.” A “TE” tattoo is on his left arm, and a blue “V” is on his left thigh.

He was wearing a blue “Evening in Paris” T-shirt, khaki shorts, brown belt, and blue and white Under Armour shoes. He also had on an “HIV Confidential Testing” bracelet and a “Know Your Status Be in Control” bracelet.

Sheriff John Ledbetter said an autopsy is pending. The case is being treated as a homicide.

If anyone recognizes the tattoos, the clothing the man wore or have any information, they are asked to call the sheriff’s department at 228-769-7063.
