Jackson County School District welcomes new superintendent
Last Friday, the Jackson County School District appointed David Baggett as its new superintendent of schools.
Baggett, who is currently serving as the assistant superintendent, will officially assume his new role on July 1st, succeeding John Strycker, whose contract was not renewed.
News 25 met with Baggett today to discuss his vision and plans for the future of the district.
During the interview, Baggett expressed his enthusiasm for the position and outlined his immediate goals. “The first thing I have to do is get in and hear from the administration this summer, and work on some of the concerns they may have. From there, I aim to develop relationships with our stakeholders, including students, teachers, and the community, to understand their concerns better. By doing so, we can provide the best education possible for our kids and staff.”
Emphasizing his commitment to servant leadership, Baggett highlighted the importance of caring for both students and teachers in every school.
He firmly believes that by focusing on providing support to the administration and staff, teachers and students can access the resources and assistance necessary for their success.
