Jackson County School District released community survey for Esser Funding
More federal funding is set to be distributed to Jackson County schools and the school district is asking for the community’s input on how it should be spent.
Around $18 million in federal Esser three funding is set to be distributed to the district and they are mandated to seek community input and make their plans for the funding public within 30 days.
The district was also one of many to receive Esser one and Esser two funds over the past year for various improvements.
Officials say this new funding will go towards addressing learning loss outside of school as well as school air quality improvements. Jackson County School District Business Manager Ryan Earley said, “Replacing windows, upgrading HVAC systems, and for us we have a lot of carpet in older buildings, which is very difficult to sanitize quickly, as you can imagine.”
Community members can access the planning survey on the school district’s website or Facebook page. The deadline to respond to the survey is May 12th.
