Jackson County man dies after being hit by car

A Vancleave man died last night after being hit by a car.
Authorities say 47-year-old John Bennett Ledbetter was walking in the middle of Jim Ramsey Road, just west of Old Fort Bayou Road, when a car hit him. The victim was walking in a dark area of the road and was wearing dark clothing.
No charges have been filed against the driver who hit him.
